Weidmüller invests in a new corporate headquarters for Asia
With the official groundbreaking ceremony, Weidmüller has begun construction of its new Asian headquarters in Suzhou. The company has been active in China for more than 30 years, and with this new building, it aims to further expand its regional presence. Attendees at the event included André Sombecki, Chief Financial Officer of the Weidmüller Group; Lance Zhao, Executive Vice President for the Asia region; representatives from the Suzhou Industrial Park; and representatives from the business and academic communities.

Direct Air Capture: Siemens and Ucaneo partner to scale carbon removal technology
The industrial removal of carbon dioxide directly from ambient air is gaining momentum as demand grows for sustainable carbon feedstocks and permanent carbon removal. Siemens and Berlin-based climate technology company Ucaneo have entered into a strategic partnership to scale electrochemical Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology from industrial pilot stage to commercial deployment. By combining Ucaneo’s DAC process with Siemens’ automation and digitalization expertise, the partners aim to establish a standardized platform for the global rollout of carbon capture facilities.

At the Brecht spice mill in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen in Germany, this primarily involves lifting, transferring, and measuring out raw materials. To reduce the physical strain on employees during their daily production work, the company relies on an exoskeleton from Schmalz.
